This year, the Lakes Region is set to host an array of vibrant Independence Day celebrations, promising a plethora of activities that cater to every taste and age. Weirs Beach, Laconia: Kick off Independence Day celebrations early on July 3rd with a spectacular firework display at Weirs Beach, renowned for hosting the first Independence Day show in New Hampshire. Set to launch at 9:30 PM from the beach, this event offers a breathtaking experience as the skies above Weirs Beach light up in an array of vibrant colors.
Alton: On Wednesday, July 3rd festivities start at 1 PM with freezer pops, outdoor games, and chalk drawings for the kids. At 5:30 PM, engage in a scavenger hunt around Alton Bay, followed by the summer concert series from 7 PM to 9 PM. Cap off the evening with a grand firework display launched from the barge at 9:20 PM, creating a stunning spectacle over the water.
Ashland: Ashland offers a multi-day celebration beginning on July 3rd with a food truck festival, bounce houses, and a concert in the park, culminating in fireworks at 9:30 PM. The festivities continue on July 4th with a pancake breakfast and a parade at 10 AM, followed by a cornhole tournament at 1 PM. On July 5th, enjoy National Treasure for their movie in the park at 8:30 PM, and on July 6th, participate in a 5K race at 9 AM followed by a community kickball game at 1 PM.
Center Harbor: Center Harbor invites you to a day filled with activities on July 4th, starting with a kid’s race at 9 AM and adult races at 10 AM. A festive parade rolls out at 2 PM at the bandstand, followed by a concert at 7 PM and the day concludes with a stunning firework display at 9:15 PM.
Meredith and Wolfeboro: Both Meredith and Wolfeboro offer fireworks displays at dusk on July 4th, with Meredith launching from Meredith Bay and Wolfeboro over Wolfeboro Bay. These events provide perfect settings for families to gather and enjoy the evening skies illuminated in grandeur.
Opechee Park, Laconia: Extend your holiday celebrations by attending the festivities at Opechee Park on July 6th.
