07 Nov 2024 Winter Ahead At The Summit Resort
Where has the year gone? The colors of autumn will soon give way to winter’s first snowfall, and we’ll embrace the season’s beauty here in Laconia. With snow-covered landscapes and festive lights around every corner, there’s no better time to visit the Lakes Region.
Gunstock Mountain, just a short drive away, is ready to welcome skiers and snowboarders of all levels with its diverse terrain. If you’ve been wanting to learn or get back on the slopes, Gunstock offers fantastic “Intro to Skiing & Riding” packages that make it easy to get started. You’ll find that skiing is just one part of the adventure—Gunstock also features a cross-country trail system and a thrilling, multi-lane tubing hill, perfect for day or night fun. Be sure to reserve your tickets early at Gunstock.com, as they tend to sell quickly!
Back at the resort, we’re thrilled to offer snowshoe rentals once again this winter! A trek through the snow-covered trails to Prescott Farm, adjacent to Summit Resort, makes for a peaceful outdoor experience in nature’s winter wonderland. It’s a flexible adventure for all ages and a fun way to get some exercise while soaking up the beauty of the season. Afterward, warm up with a relaxing dip in our hot tub or enjoy a seasonal beverage at the poolside bar. We have hot, spiked drinks for adults and cozy cocoa for the kids, making it a family-friendly retreat.
And if you’re looking for more winter magic, don’t miss the return of Ice Castles in North Woodstock, NH, where you can explore ice slides, glowing caverns, a fairy forest, and more. It’s a unique experience, and tickets are recommended in advance. For holiday cheer closer to home, check out the NH Motor Speedway’s “Gift of Lights” display, open November 28 through January 5. This drive-thru show features over 3.5 million twinkling lights and a variety of holiday scenes—a dazzling way to celebrate the season.
We hope your winter season is filled with joy, warmth, and a bit of adventure. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday and an exciting start to the new year!
Warm regards,
