A centerpiece of autumn’s festivities is the New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival, which this year promises an expanded and exhilarating celebration spanning from October 22nd to Halloween on the 31st.
Spreading beyond its traditional boundaries, the 2024 Pumpkin Festival now encompasses not just downtown Laconia but also Lakeport and Weirs Beach. On Saturday, October 26th, the celebration offers a day packed with diverse activities. Visitors can discover delights such as 603 Sweets, Meats & More, soak up the tropical atmosphere at the Winni Rum Shack or enjoy lively tunes at the Looney Bin Bar & Grill. Family-friendly attractions such as Half Moon Amusement Arcades and Ivy’s Ice Cream are sure to offer fun along Lakeside Ave.
This year’s festival introduces new engaging activities including a Masquerade Ball on the M/S Mount Washington and haunted scenic tours aboard The Spirit. For the musically inclined, Zombie SKaraoke presents an opportunity to shine, while those with a sweet tooth can savor the many delicious offerings at Kellerhaus. Beer enthusiasts will appreciate the Craft Beer Xchange’s bier garden, featuring the exclusive Witches Brew Pub. While new features enrich the festival, beloved traditional activities remain integral. The eagerly anticipated Runaway Pumpkin 10k & 5k Run/Walk on the morning of October 26th will energize participants and spectators alike. Main Street will be transformed with innovative pumpkin displays and over 70 craft and artisan exhibitors, adding a festive flair to the downtown area.
The festival is a paradise for families, boasting a range of activities from the new Pet Costume Parade to the classic Children’s Costume Parade. Additional fun includes a Donut Eating Contest and the creative Make Your Own Monster Plant workshop. The Kids Zone, featuring entertainment from Vertical Entertainment, ensures that younger guests have a blast.
