Summit Resort’s Winter Ahead 2023

Summit Resort’s Winter Ahead 2023

Where has the year gone? With the fall season behind us, we already received our first dusting of snow and are looking forward to the beauty of the winter season ahead. The winter months bring many fun things to do in the Lakes Region.

Gunstock Mountain is a short drive from the resort and offers skiing & riding for all abilities and a great terrain park for those thrill seekers. Have you been thinking about learning to ski or ride? Look no further, Gunstock has the learn to ski/ ride packages just for you. The learn to ski/ride packages can be purchased to include pass, group or private lesson and rental equipment, one stop shopping, no hassles. There is nothing better than a day spent with your family on the slopes. If you are not into the vertical challenge, Gunstock boasts a great Cross Country trail system as well. You can also experience the thrill of tubing on Gunstocks multi lane tubing hill. All of these adventures can also be experienced under the lights as well, with 22 trails, 5 lifts, terrain park and 8 tubing lanes that are all brightly lit. Make sure to buy your ski & tubing passes ahead of time as these will book up quickly once the snow flies. For more information on the mountain and programs visit Gunstock.com.

This year we will once again be offering snowshoe rentals at the resort front desk. Take a stroll through the snow-covered trees to Prescott Farms, located adjacent to the Summit Resort, this makes for a fun laid back day outside in the fresh winter air. I say laid back, but this can be a workout depending on the depth of the snow you encounter, so be mindful of that as well. Nevertheless, this is an activity you and your family can enjoy at your own pace. After a full day outside, come back to the resort and unwind in the hot tub while enjoying a warm beverage in the tropical atmosphere of the pool area. Hot spiked beverages for the adults, as well as hot cocoa for the kids will be available at the pool bar, these are sure to warm you up from the inside out.

The Ice Castles will also be returning this year to North Woodstock NH. This fun activity for the family includes ice slides, caverns, tubing, a mystical forest light walk, a winter fairy forest, polar pub, sleigh rides and artic alcove. It is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance. For more information go to icecastles.com/new-hampshire

Also returning for the 13th year is the Gift of Lights at the NH Motor Speedway. This drive-thru light show will feature the tunnel of lights, arches, toys and many holiday theme scenes. The light display is 2.5 miles in length and exhibits 3.5 million twinkling lights and runs from November 23 through December 31, 2023.  For more information and tickets go to nhms.com/events/gift-of-lights

Wishing you and your families a wonderful holiday season and fun packed winter ahead. Warm regards,
