04 Aug Summit Resort’s Fall Ahead 2023
This summer is certainly moving quickly. With the massive amounts of rain we received in July, it hardly seems like we’ve had a summer at all. So far August has favored the sunny skies and warmer temperatures that the area normally enjoys and we are grateful for that. Nevertheless, fall is on the horizon and we are all looking forward to the spectacular beauty of autumn in the Lakes Region. As the summer crowds begin to dwindle, fall is the perfect time to plan a family getaway. In the fall it seems that we can breathe easy and move about the area more freely.
Take advantage of the warmer fall days and rent a boat to explore the lake at your own pace. Hike the many hiking trail systems the region boasts and take in the magnificent views. Visit Gunstock and hit the zip lines or mountain coaster for a rush of adrenaline. Take some time to visit the local shops and eateries as we have many little hidden gems in the Lakes Region. Let’s not forget about our variety of local breweries and wineries. Take a ride into the White Mountains to enjoy all the stunning, radiant colors. Many visitors enjoy crossing the Kamgamangus Highway, a beautiful stretch of road passing through the White Mountains which never disappoints. We host many local shows in the area as well. Go to a concert at the Bank of NH Pavilion or check out what our local theatres, Lakeport Opera House and the Colonial Theatre, have in their lineup. We also have many craft and county fairs through the months of September and October. Most of our area attractions and hot spots are open through Columbus Day, so there are several more weeks to enjoy all that the Lakes Region has to offer during the warmer months of the year.
The Summit Resort is the perfect spot to come back to at the end of your day of exploring. Relax in our hot tub and enjoy a refreshing beverage at our pool side bar, where this summer we added the Oasis Machine and are enjoying making new and exciting frozen drinks for the adults and children to enjoy!
We look forward to seeing you and your families at the resort,
Sue Violette
