Summit Resort’s Winter Ahead

Summit Resort’s Winter Ahead

As much as we hate to see the spectacular fall season end, we are all looking forward to the winter ahead. However, as I sit here writing this it is a beautiful 72 degrees outside in the beginning of November. So, we thank mother nature for this extended fall feel.

This is a great time to get outside and enjoy the area hiking trails some of which boast spectacular views of the lakes.  We also have direct access to a fantastic walking trail system at Prescott Farm right next door to the resort. There is no better way to take a break from our hectic lives and just simply relax and breath the crisp freshness of the air.

Soon the ground will be covered in a blanket of snow, and we will be enjoying all things winter. The Summit Resort is centrally located in NH and is situated relatively close to some great ski areas with Gunstock Mountain being only 11 miles from the resort. Waterville Valley is a short 40-minute drive and Loon Mountain is just under an hour. These mountains offer tubing in addition to great themed weekends throughout the season for your families to enjoy.

Not into the great outdoors? We have the perfect tropical spot for you and your family to enjoy. Nothing sounds better than sitting by our heated pools with a delicious beverage in hand from our pool side bar while you enjoy watching the snowfall outside.

Be sure to check out our drink specials when relaxing and enjoying the pools. We have a great selection of kids drinks as well as refreshing and delicious adult beverages. Please feel free to share some of your favorite drink recipes with us, who knows it may make its way to our menu board! We currently have a few on our menu board that were recommended by an owner or guest.

If you want to enjoy the scenery of the Lakes Region but not wanting to be out in the colder temperatures, why not drive the Winnipesaukee Lake Loop? This loop is a great day trip that will take you around Lake Winnipesaukee where you can stop at some great restaurants, country stores and cute shops. Another great road trip would be to check out some of the beautiful, covered bridges here in NH.   Stop by the front desk and we would be happy to provide you with directions for your excursions.

There are a lot of fun events going on throughout the upcoming winter months. New Hampshire Motor Speedway will be hosting Gift of Lights starting November 24th and Ice Castle tickets go on sale starting November 28th. Be sure to book early because these popular events have been selling out fast! This year’s Pond Hockey Classic will be held on February 3 – 5, 2023 and the Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby will be held on February 11 – 12, 2023.

As always, we look forward to seeing you around the resort!
