Greetings from the Summit Resort! What a rollercoaster this winter has been. The Lakes Region has experienced some very unseasonably high temperatures throughout the winter months this year. With some recent days reaching the 50’s we can’t help but THINK SPRING. Keep in mind that there is still some great skiing to be had during these next few weeks, as unpredictable as Mother Nature has been, we could still get hit with additional snow fall. We have some great packages online and will still be offering discounted passes to our owners and guests through the end of the ski season.
And so we begin to think about spring. March is Maple Sugar Month and we have Prescott Farm right in our back yard! Prescott Farm will host “Tap into Maple” tours every Saturday through the month of March. On this guided tour you will learn all about the process of making maple syrup, from tapping to boiling in their onsite sap house. Be sure to check out our very own bottles of maple syrup for sale in our Market as well! Prescott Farm also has an extensive trail system with great walking trails that are accessible right from the Summit’s property. We also have snow shoes available at the front desk should you desire to go on a self-guided walk through their trail system.
The Summit Resort’s staff has also been busy planning some upgrades in the Amenities Building. In the fall we installed a new air handling system, as well as 2 new boilers. All systems seem to be working well and have kept the building & pool area at comfortable temperatures. Next month we will begin work on a new roof for the Amenities Building. Additionally, we will be upgrading the interior of the sauna with tile walls, a new floor and benches. Last year we installed a new heater in the sauna and look forward to having the new modern look for this space. Be sure to swing by and check it out!
Many of you have asked about upgrades to the game room located on the second floor of the Amenities building and we are pleased to announce we will also be installing 3 new XBOX 1 gaming stations.
Please note the Indoor pools will be closed for annual maintenance from Monday, March 30, 2020 and re-opening for business Friday, April 10, 2020. We will take this time to freshen up the pools and work on additional maintenance projects so we are able to provide you with a fresh, clean atmosphere for your families to gather and enjoy. The resort will still remain open during that period so take advantage of the best rates of the year with our Pool Closed Super Savings Package.
